Yobouékro

Jason Hamby was able to lead a young Muslim man, named Traoré, to the Lord Jesus Christ. After many months Traoré felt the Lord call upon his life to preach the Word of God. He grew up in a village about 15 miles outside of Divo. He told Bro. Jason that no one has ever preached the Gospel in his village. Bro. Jason started holding services twice a month on Friday nights. Many in the village have come to know the Lord as there personal Saviour, including the Chief of the village. The people began to grow in the Lord and requested that they wanted to hold services on Sunday morning. Bro. Jason Hamby preaches on the radio each Sunday morning so it was a perfect opportunity for me and my wife to begin holding services each Sunday morning. The young preachers from the Baptist Church of Dialogue also came and preached and led singing. Pictured below is Jason Hamby and those who attend Church at Yobouékro:

When the civil war broke out, we had to leave for about a year. When we came back we found many of the folks still faithful and we began going again. Seeing that there was nothing for the kids, Rebecca started having childrens church with them. We just had a vacation Bible school for two days and had 70 the first day and 90 the next. The Sunday after, my wife and I had the prividlege of leading 9 children to the Lord. We praise the Lord for this. Pictured below is the new church building made out of bamboo and the kids at Vacation Bible School, Rebecca with the children, and me with the prividge of baptizing one of the faithful men.
