Ministry in Burkina Faso
We arrived in Burkina Faso in December 2004. We live in the capital city called Ouagadougou (Ouaga for short). Other missionaries have told me that Ouaga had a population of 500,000 people a little over 10 years ago. Now the population is near 2 and half million. The city is wide open for the work of God.
After getting a little settled we began searching for places to start a church. We were anxious to get started, but at the same time we wanted to wait for God’s will. After praying many weeks another missionary, John Cooley, began telling me of a man who has wanted a work in his village for a long time but nobody had gone. We decided to go, making no promises except to preach the Word of God. Look under Roungo to find out more about what God has led us to do in this particular village.
John Cooley was also told about land for sale on the outskirts of town so we went to go and look at it. We decided that it would be a good area to purchase land, as there are many people building houses (or should I say mud houses) here. It was my desire for a long time to find a big piece of land that would be suitable for a church, Bible college, children and adult camps, Christian school, radio ministry and possibly a health clinic. We purchased about 5 acres! To find out more, look under Tingandogo. |
